Well after we were finished with our fence project yesterday Adam decided to take some scrap wood and make me an early mothers day present. When he brought it in (yes, in my house) I suggested that maybe I could use it outside to plant flowers on. He was so excited (as I was holding back the tears from laughing) and said he made it for my office. Well I can't break his little heart so I guess it will be spending some time in my office until I can think of another use for it. I will leave you a picture.

Feeling better today
Okay so I am feeling a little better today. Man I just feel like there is so much to do. We have been working on our house for....well...the whole 9 years we have owned it. I mean the house was a 1970's special when we bought it so we have redone literally everything . But for some reason since we are done with the inside of the house and now we are working on the outside I am starting to get impatient. I am ready to have it done. Sometimes I hate that my husband is so handy. He thinks he has to do it all himself. Because he can do it he won't pay for someone else to do it. Since he has a full time job the projects at home take a very l....o.....n...g time. I know I am not a patient person so this is hard for me. I honestly thought our fence project would take a couple of weekends and we are now looking at over a month before it is finished. I guess I just need to learn patience. So as soon as I get some patience then...well...we will be just fine :)
In other news Adam has started little league. It was very fun to watch his first game tonight. I felt like for the first time he is a BIG boy. Man he has grown so fast. It was freezing cold but still fun. I am proud of him.

The work never ends
So we started putting up a much needed fence in our yard. We have had a hodgepodge of different fences in our back yard. We have had barbed wire. wood. chain link and some other kinds of fence that is like chicken wire. We have a ditch that runs the whole length of the back yard that has caused me to have near nervous breakdowns with the little ones.
So we decided it was time to put one up after owning the house for 9 1/2 years. So we decided to go with a wood fence. I would have loved to do vinyl but for the area we live in it is not a wise investment. So it took us all weekend to get the posts set. Saturday was great weather but sunday was cold and miserable but we had to keep working through it.
So I have to mention this because it ruffled my feathers a little. So we decided not to ask our neighbors to split the cost of the fence. I figure we all now what the proper etiquette is when it comes to fence building. You should split the cost of the fence but I figure if they can then they will offer to help or at least offer to help with the labor. Okay here is the part that bothers me the most. My neighbors have a chain link fence that runs the lenght of their back yard. When Rick was digging the holes he started from the front yard and ended in the back so there is about a foot difference from the wood fence to the neighbors chain link. Well our neighbors actually had the nerve to whine about how the two don't meet up. Well my opinion is #1 if your not going to help then keep your mouth shut and #2 if you aren't paying for it you don't have a say. End of story! It's not like they can't go down to the hardware store and get the wood or chain link to fix the gap. I mean we are talking hardley any effort on their part to fix it.
I may sound selfish or hard but I really don't think that they have a right to complain when we are out busting our butts and spending thousands of dollars to put this fence up. I think part of me is a little defensive because last summer my neighbors other neighbors put up a fence on their side and asked for them to split the cost and they didn't because their neighbors never pushed the issue. That is something my neighbor told me out of their own mouths. So I knew they were a little shady so that is why we decided not to even ask them because we didn't want any awkwardness. Even though I am feeling a little awkward about them anyway.
Silly me I know, but people are just not honest anymore. If it were me and Rick in this situation we would have at the least offered to help with the labor. If we couldn't help out financially then we would try to work something out because that is just who we are. So do you all think I am being a biotch? I am a little PMS right now so maybe I am being a biotch.
Anyway thanks for listening to my rants!!!

spring break!
This (whole entire) week is spring break for my boys and holy cow they are crazy. I forgot how noisy these little guys can be. It just never stops. I would send them outside but....It's FREEZING cold. So we are stuck in the house driving each other crazy.
I think I am driving them crazy too. I can't loosen up and let them make messes. Plus we got our new couches and I am being extra anal about them putting their feet on them or rough housing. I would like them to stay nice for a while.
All in all though I have really enjoyed having the little stinkers around. Before I know it they will all be in school full time and that is when they seem to grow up so fast.
So tomorrow we are going to brave the zoo unless it is freezing and then we will have to come up with something indoors that is fun to do.

Look what I got!!!
I am so spoiled. I decided that is was time to update my couches in the living room because my boys have thrashed what I do have. So I decided a long time ago that I wanted leather because I think it will stand up against the boys better. But as you know leather is not cheap and well......I am cheap so I have been searching high and low for a great deal and I have not had the best of luck until today. I found a furniture store here that is liquidating their inventory and I went in and they had the prices all marked up of course. Anyway I found this sectional and it is exactly what I have been picturing in my living room. But the price was insane at $2200. So I walked around some more and they told us if we have any questions let them know because they will take less than what was marked. So I went back and asked how much for the sectional and she told me I could have it for $1500 which I still felt was a good deal but we had just came from another store that had a couch set that I could have lived with for $1200. So I told her that and she said she would see if they would accept $1300 for it. And they did!!!! I know that was a good deal because when I got home I checked their website and they normally charge $1800 for it.
Here is a picture that I took in the store.

I have a sunburn and it is snowing....
Okay only in utah can you get a sunburn one day and the next day it is snowing. I am telling you I have had it with snow. I am over it! I want it to be summer now. This winter had been really hard on me. I have been struggling with body aches real bad this year and the cold hurts my body so bad. I have had alot of blood work done trying to see if they can figure out why I am in so much pain but everything came out good with those tests so now he wants me to see a specialist. But my insurance does not cover specialists so I might have to wait a while before I address this issue. At least I know it is nothing life threatening.
Anyway enough about me. We got back from our camping trip last night. We had so much fun. Me and Rick mostly just chilled and watched all the little kids play in the sand and get very dirty :) We played on the 4 wheeler a little but for the most part we just had fun visiting with all the family we had there. There were 30 people, 7 trailers and 1 tent. So we had a pretty good size group out there. I love spending time with my family so whenever I get that chance I am happy.
I did get some pictures but I haven't had time to load them up yet so when I do I will post them.

So sorry!!
I have really been slacking on my blog lately. I don't know what it is but I can't come up with anything clever to post. So I guess I can give you some updates on us.
Rick is still working his bones to the ground. He's gearing up for the thousands of projects I have for him this spring.
I am still dieting. It is coming off very slowly but at least it is coming off. I have lost a total of 19 LBS and I am now only taking 15 units of insulin in the morning and I am not taking any at all in the evening. What else........ Oh and I have been SICK uuugggghhh! I hate being sick because it takes me forever to get over it.
Adam is doing awesome. I got his report card last week and he got all A's a couple were A- but I still consider that an A. He has done so well in school this year. The last couple of years he has struggled. But this year he has been in tutoring at the library and he has a great teacher too. He also just started little league. Man they really work these kids. He has practice 3 times a week for 90 min each time. He is really excited though. I still can't believe he is old enough for little league. My baby is growing up way too fast.
Deshawn is as cute as ever. He struggles still but we just take one day at a time. Hey did ya all know it is autism awareness month? I encourage everyone to learn up on autism. Autism is so complex. I am so grateful that we were able to adopt him. I know he came to us so that we can help through this trial he has had to deal with.
Parker is parker. If you know him you will understand that statement. He is boy through and through and I love everything about him. He is such a monkey and way too smart for his own good. He is doing so well in preschool. He brings home the things he works on everyday and I am amazed at how well he can color and write his letters. He is a master at writing his own name.
I am very proud of all my kids they are the best.
So we are going camping this weekend (please pray for good weather) This is our annual family campout so it is usually a pretty good size group and we always have so much fun. Most of my favorite memories as a child stem from these campouts so I am excited to be able to share this with my kids.
Anyway I will take pics and share them when I get back!!
