2 Days down!

Well I made it through 2 days of working. My feet are killing me but I am not as tired as I thought I would be. I am just not used to working on my feet. I have always had a desk job since I was 20 so it will take a while to get used to it. But I found out today that I will be getting a paycheck all year even when I am off work for the summer. Then I called our district HR dept and was talking to them and she told me that because I am a contracted employee I will get the state of utah retirement and I will only have to pay $215 for my whole family to have medical insurance. I am so excited for this because we have been without insurance for a year and it is not a comfortable feeling.

This job is going to work out so well. Rick gets the kids up,dressed and fed and his mom works right by our house so she picks them up and takes them to school before she goes to work and I am home by 1:00 or 1:30. I also have all the same days off that my kids do because I work in the same district they attend school in.

As far as my kids go they are loving school. Dee told me tonight that school is GREAT and that he loves it. I have also noticed that Adam has a great attitude this year I think it has alot to do with the fact that his teacher is a male but whatever it is I will take it last year was a difficult one. Parker he just goes with the flow. He is happy to be back in school. His teacher is also a male teacher which is different for a first grade teacher but he is one of those teachers that has a gentle soul.

Thangs are changing but in a good way and I think things are looking up for us :)

Great News!

Well ya know that lunch lady job I interviewed for right after I got laid off. Well I got a call out of the blue today saying the person who was supposed to take the job ended up revoking her contract so they asked me if I still wanted it and of course I did. Hello who wouldn't want to work while their kids are in school and be home a couple hours before they get home plus have all the days off that they have and to top it off have wonderful state benefits.

I am so excited I can Hardly stand it. The wage is crappy but the benefits are worth the lower wage. Wish me luck I am really nervous. I hate starting new jobs.

first day of school 2009

Well the boys have officially gone back to school today. It is only 10:15 am and I have done my dishes, cleaned my house and done 2 loads of laundry. These are things that take me all day to do when my kids are home.

This year Parker and Deshawn are in the first grade and Adam is in the 5th grade. So for the first time in 6 years I am home without any children and I will be honest I am feeling a little freeked out being all alone. Even my dog is acting a little somber. The house is so quiet. But I am sure I will get used to it. Plus I was telling my sister yesterday that I can't wait to miss them. Right now I just want to run away from them. It has been a long and stressful summer and I think everyone was ready to go back to school.

Here are some pics of our last camping/fishing trip, Parkers Birthday and the obligatory 1st day of school pics.

Happy Birthday Parker!

Happy Birthday Kiddo! I can't believe you are turning six years old today. You are such an amazing little guy and even though you snuck your way into this world I couldn't imagine our lives without you in it. You have such a sweet spirit and you are a super awesome snuggle bug. These are the things that make it possible to overlook your free spirit. You are a monkey and can climb anything without fear. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever get use to it. You also are so kind to your brothers (at least most of the time) you are always the one that will give in when there is an argument which I know is not always easy but you do it willingly and it makes me so proud of you. Ya know I thought we had an agreement that you were supposed to stop getting bigger and stay my baby forever. Oh well I guess it is inevitable. I love you little guy so much and I hope your birthday is extra special.

Last week

Last week in bullets

-Finished getting ready for school to start
-Finally found new shoes for all of my boys(it took 4 stores)
-We went fishing at strawberry reservoir and deer creek on Thursday but didnt catch anything
-On Friday we went to a super fun birthday party for my nephew. They had a food fight/water fight party, it was really fun to watch and they had a ball.
-On Saturday I woke up to Rick screaming at the kids saying "how much is this going to cost me" Found out that Deshawn and Parker were climbing on my car and Deshawn somehow smashed in my windshield with his butt.
-Saturday night we finally got the kids settled and we just sat down to watch tv and chill and Adam started screaming that Deshawn was choking and sure enough he had a penny stuck in his throat. It finally made its way to his stomach. So now we have to search his poo every time he goes and watch for that penny.....Good times I tell ya :)
-Sunday we met my sister and her hubby at silver lake flats in American Fork Canyon and FINALLY caught some fish. We had dinner there and packed up and came home.
-As for today I am stuck home waiting for the windshield guy to come and replace my windshield and Ricks windshield. Ricks has had a crack in it for a long time but his registration is due this month so we have to get it replaced.

As far as the job search goes I still haven't found anything that will work for our situation. I need to find something soon though because things are starting to scare me a little. I am sure it will work out though.
