It's been a while......

I know it has been a while since I have posted. It has been crazy lately. So for those of you that kept your fingers crossed that my treadmill motor would get here quickly your fingers are broken:) I just checked my tracking and what do you know the package that I paid extra money to get here faster is not expected until the 19th. Can you say I am pissed! I am dying without my stupid treadmill. I paid to get that motor here in three days the 19th will be 10 days. HMMMM Does anyone else see a problem here? I even thought to myself even if it gets here by friday that is still acceptable to me. So when I checked my tracking and saw that I was crushed.

I know I can go to our city rec center but it is really a dive hole. Plus I am a little self concious. We are getting a new center that should be finished in may and I am really excited about that. It is HUGE! I know it will have a indoor track which really excites me. I love indoor tracks. You don't have to worry about the weather or if it is dark outside or even wierdos that want to rape and pillage you(okay I know that was a little over the top but I have a tendency to be paranoid) But for now I will just have to keep using my weights and recumbant bike. I was worried I wouldn't be able to lose any weight this week but so far so good. I think adding more weights to my workout has been a good change. But we will know for sure on Saturday when I weigh in:)

Well now I have done it......

I wore out my treadmill DAMNIT!!!!! I am totally pissed off right now. It really is about time that it started falling apart. We have had it for quite some time now. It is a real nice treadmill too. I am real frustrated because I have goals and I need my treadmill to accomplish them. I was hoping it was a small fix but it is the motor. When I run on it the stupid thing just shuts right off 20 minutes into a workout. It totally freeked me out cause I was running super fast on it and it just stopped suddenly and I fell right in to the front of it. I ordered a new motor($180 later) and it should be here next week so hopefully it won't be out of commission too long. Now I need to come up with something else that will work me out as well as the treadmill. I have a recumbent bike and a weight bench plus a variety of options for aerobics but none of those things get me moving like my treadmill:( I need you all to keep your fingers crossed so I get my motor fast.

Thanks for listening! I know this is real trivial but it's something I am frustrated about ya know:)

Week 2 weight loss!

okay here are the stats from last week

Total lost: 2 LBS (I wish it were more but at least it is something)

Total calories: 9957 daily avg is 1422

Total exercise: 400 min daily avg is 57 min

I increased my calories a little because I heard if you have too little calories than you body will hold on to your fat and I don't want that. But I did so much better last week in weight loss that I am considering dropping them again.

I was also able to drop my insulin another 6 units a day. Very exciting!

Anyway it has been harder than hell and I hope it all pays off. I have lost 7 lbs so far and it feels good I just hope I can keep it up. I still have a very positive attitude so I hope that doesn't change.

I hope everyone out there who is battling like me has a great week next week and can keep up with their goals for the week:)

Adam!!!

Well I went to parent teacher confrence for Adam last night and I just had to share how well he is doing. Last year he really struggled in reading and so this year I think between the combo of a really eager new teacher and the tutoring I put him in outside of school he has grown so much. His teacher says that he is doing excellent. His reading and math have excelled this last quarter.

He was never too far behind but I think he just needed a little boost so that is why I put him in tutoring. Plus I think reading is very important and I can't get him to do his reading at home so I think that tutoring is a great option for him to get his reading in.

I told myself if he doesn't improve this year I would move him to a charter school but I think he is doing much better. I actually was looking into putting him into a charter school this year but he was so upset about leaving his friends that I decided to give it one more year. I am glad I did. He really is doing well and I couldn't be more proud of him.

weekend recap!

Well we had a busy weekend. Of course we had the usual saturday basketball game for adam and then we went to Rick's parents clear out in the middle of nowhere. They live about 45 min from us. Seriously too far. We use to go and visit them all of the time when they lived in the home Rick grew up in but they are just too far to stop by on whim anymore.

Rick was able to texture 2 large bedrooms and a couple closets and hallways so they can get some more of their basement finished. His dad had called us and said he needed some more projects so we needed to get over there and texture those walls so he can hang doors and paint. When I think of the word workaholic Rick's dad automatically pops in my brain. He has to be a busy body. Well we ate supper there and Rick finished and we got home right at bedtime YEAH!!

Sunday we got SNOW!!!! Wow did we ever get snow. We haven't seen that kindof snowfall for awhile. The snow finally subsided and we were off to our superbowl party. We had a fun time hootin and hollerin at the big screen. Rick won the pool too. He won $88. Not to bad for only putting in 10 bucks. So while we were at our party it decided to start snowing again. That was the scariest drive home. I am glad Rick was driving. Even he was nervous. He kept telling the kids to shut up and they weren't even being noisy so you could tell he was nervous. Thank goodness we took the plunge and bought $600 worth of snow tires this winter.

All in all we had a great weekend. I left you with a quick snapshot of me and my honey!

Week 1 weight loss

Okay here they are:

Weight loss: 5 LBS

Calories consumed: 9463 the daily avg was 1351 per day

Exercise minutes: 347 min the daily avg was 49 min

I have also been able to drop my insulin 20 units. I know once I get back to maintaining my weight instead of losing then I will prob have to add some more back in but it is still nice to drop it instead of having to keep adding more.

I wish the number was higher of course but at least it is something. I have worked really hard this week and I plan on continuing. Hopefully next week will show some good results.

WOW! What a week

Well I know when you read that title you expected some juicy story about my week but really there is nothing to report. I have been working out like crazy and I am starting to feel like it is doing something.

I decided that I am going to weigh in every Saturday and post my results. I decided with this diet I am going to keep it real honest. I have been writing down all of my calories and all of the exercise I have done. I figure if I blog about it too I will place it all out there and have to be accountable for my week.

Now I know you all could care less about my results but this is just another way for me to "keep it real".

So you will be hearing from me tommorrow on my last weeks results. So stay tuned!
