I know it's a long time coming:)
Well I guess I can start with me. I finally got the position I have been trying for and I start this August and I am really excited to start that. I also just got back from a conference in ST George last week for work. It was alot of fun and I learned alot. I also started a new medication last month to replace the one that was making me sick and I feel so much better now. No more puking and nausea. Right now I am on my summer break and have been super busy but I think things are starting to slow down a bit.
Rick is doing well. He is still having back issues but that will be a life long thing. I hate seeing him hurt so bad :( He has been working steady which is great. He has also been really busy being the assistant cub scout master. Deshawn loves having his dad be there with him.
Adam has grown like a weed lately. He now towers over me:( He has been playing baseball and there team is going to state next month and he is real excited for that since his teams have never been to state before. He even gets his picture in the newspaper and he thinks that is pretty cool. We just got him signed up for football starting in August and he is excited for that too. I am a little nervous for him but I keep being told that I just worry too much.
Deshawn has been struggling a little with his behaviors but we just switched his meds a little and hopefully that will give him some relief. He is loving summer and being able to play with all the neighbor kids.
Parker is also very happy it is summer. He and Deshawn are also playing machine pitch right now and they practice all the time. I am just waiting for a window to break :)
So there is a very short update and I hope there are still a couple of you that check back every once in awhile.

Blogging
I don't know why it has been so hard for me to blog these days. I love being able to journal things and share with people what's going on in our lives but I have really let the ball drop.
So I guess I better update you all on what's been happening lately in our lives. I just had my 34th birthday. I am still working with the school district and I am always searching for a better position. But I am grateful for what I do have. Financially we are hurting right now (along with the rest of the country) so I keep on looking for something that will pay better. As far as my health goes I have been doing really great as far as my diabetes goes(yay me).
Rick is still working in drywall and they have been pretty steady which is great. He has been working out of town alot which has been super hard on us. We really depend on him around here. Now if we could pick up side jobs again like we used to that would be great. I am not sure if I have mentioned it before but Rick was diagnosed with Diabetes in August and he was able to get it under control real fast and has done a great job managing it.
Adam is playing basketball and is currently tied for 1st in his division with one more game to go so he is hoping to take 1st. He is now officially taller than me :( I can't believe how big he is getting.
Deshawn is doing AWESOME in school. He has tested out of all of his resource classes and now is fully mainstream schooled. He still gets speech 2 times a week for 30 min.
Parker is crazy and a busy, busy boy :) We love every minute of him.

face.book has won me over
I do believe that I have turned into a face.book junkie and I have neglected my blog far too long. Since my last post we have been camping once on the 24th of July. The boys had swimming lessons and I started a new med that pretty much felt like chemo. I puked more than I care to count. But my body has finally (hopefully) adjusted (14 pounds later).
The boys started school on the 25th of August and I also started back to work. It is super hard to go back to work after three months off but it has been nice too. I also applied for a new position again :) I probably won't get this one because I know their kitchen situation and I am pretty sure she is going to hire one of the ladies that is already in her kitchen. But I still felt like I needed to apply because I am hoping they will get the hint and will keep seeing my name and give me a shot. The jobs I applied for in May all went to ladies already in their kitchens. It really sucks because I should have first dibs because I am a contracted employee and contracted employees should technically be looked at first but I know they bend the rules in their favor alot.
Also this summer we found out my hubby has Diabetes. Totally shocked us but he is doing well with controlling it and I am proud of him for taking it by the horns and really trying to be healthy. He has also been going to physical therapy for his back and has seen some good improvements and he is really taking it seriously and doing his home exercises faithfully. He works so hard for our family and I love and appreciate him so much.
I am not sure if anyone reads my blog anymore but if anyone does and wants to be friends on facebook let me know.

Bummer
Well I never got an interview for those jobs that I applied for. I am a little disappointed but I will keep on keepin on :) I will just keep on trying until I get what I ultimately want.
We have had a busy week. If you are on my facebook you already know this. On Tuesday we went to our summer movie and then we had Adams baseball game that evening. On Wednesday me and my boys went on a hike in the morning and then the little boys started coach pitch that evening. On Thursday we went to the zoo and in the evening we went to another one of Adams games. Today I woke up and my eyes were glued shut and I couldn't breath. I am thinking I have spent too much time outside and my allergies have gotten the best of me. I hope its just allergies and not a sign of something worse to come.
Next week will be a busy one too :)

I did it....
I decided to apply for those jobs. It will stay posted until Tues and hopefully I will hear from them soon after that. I am keeping my fingers crossed but I am not keeping my hopes up. I am happy where I am at right now and if I don't get the job than I will just stay where I am and try again another time. So anyway I will let you know if I get an interview.

End of the school year!!
I am coming up on the last week of school and then I will be out of work for the summer. Good thing is I still get a paycheck while I have the summer off. I am looking forward to this time off with the boys. I am going to try to keep them busy with fun activities and hopefully I will be better at blogging too.
As far as work goes I am trying to decide whether or not to apply for another position in another school. I love where I am at but the job pays alot better than what I am making right now. Its just hard to leave where I am because I am happy where I am at. What if I take the other position and I hate it there? This is my dilemma right now. Also the fact that I have only worked for my district for a year makes me wonder if they would even consider me.
As far as the kids go they are all doing great. Deshawn is doing so well in school they have taken away almost all of his extra services. This is such a great thing. He will still get assistance in Math and Speech but he went from getting 4 hours of extra services a day to only 30 min a day for math and 30 min 2 times a week for speech. It just makes me so happy to see him doing so well. Parker is right on track and Adam is doing great as well. Infact I had a sneak peek at Adams grades and they are better than they have been all year. He so far has all A's and one B. We will have to see for sure next week when we get report cards.
Anyway I will let you all know what I decide on the job thing.

Happy Easter!!!

I know, I know I have been a very bad blogger but I had a second so I decided to post a pic of the easter loot. I was a bad mom and didn't get any still shots of them with their easter stuff so I only have a pic of their loot :) I did camcorder them so I do have that but I will save you from watching that lengthy thing.

The new year!
This has been one crazy year for us. We are sooooo looking forward to this new year. Hopefully we can work on getting out of the debt we got ourselves in debt trying to stay afloat this year. We were almost completely out of debt at the beginning of this year and now it is just pitiful where we are. But we have great plans to dig ourselves out now I have a steady job that has insurance and hopefully this year will bring more side jobs for Rick because that is where he makes alot of money. The year before last he had a side job every month this year he has had 2 all year. So everyone cross your fingers for good things to come.
On my last post I mentioned they were going to put me on a monitor that would read my bloodsugars constantly for a week. Well my insurance company has other ideas. I have to do some hardcore testing at home and show them my records and then "they" will decide if that is what I need. I guess they figure they are the doctors. Anyway so I will be doing that for a couple weeks and then I will have to wait until the insurance decides if it is necessary.
The kids are doing great and we have really enjoyed our christmas break. We had a great Christmas and the kids were spoiled rotten. I even heard a couple of times that this was best Christmas ever. So all in all I think they had a great christmas. We are sad to be seeing our break coming to an end.

What's up
Well there is nothing much going on since my last post. We are still trying to get ready for christmas. We are getting my oldest a cell phone for christmas and once we pick that up we will be done with shopping. I am still not sure how I feel about him getting a cell phone but I know I will feel better if he has one and for 10 bucks a month it is well worth it to me. Plus I will have a bargaining chip with him once he gets it.
I only have 5 more working days and I will be off for a couple weeks for the holidays. This is where I LOVE my job. I get so much time off. My paychecks suck but they do pay for groceries and that is good enough for me. I get alot of time off and get a paycheck all year so I am good for now.
I went to the doctor yesterday and he wants to put a monitor on me that continuously reads my bloodsugars so he can get a better idea of how he wants to continue treating me. I have to wear it for a week which I am not looking forward to but I would like to get a tighter control of my blood sugars. For those of you who know what an A1C is my number is a 7.8 which is not great but not horrible. So we are just trying to achieve great.
The kids are great and so excited for christmas they can hardly stand it. To tell the truth neither can I. I am really excited for christmas this year. I actually did less presents this year but I think they are going to love what they are getting. We will see :)
Attatched are pics from my family christmas party. We had santa and alot of fun!

WOW!!!
It has been way too long since I posted. Ever since I started working I feel so drained that it is hard to get motivated to post anything.
November has been a crazy busy month. My sister had her gallbladder out so I was helping out where I could with her children. I have been christmas shopping whenever I have a free minute. I was trying to finish before Thanksgiving but I didn't quite make it this year. I still have a few odds and ends to pick up. Then last sunday my moms side of the family got together for a Thanksgiving feast of pizza :) I am pretty sure if my grandma was alive she would be so very disappointed in us for that one.
Thanksgiving was a bust for me. We went to Ricks parents house and we were told the wrong time so everyone started without us. Kindof left me in a foul mood. We were scraping for some of the food. But we did get fed. I don't know what it is but his parents are really striking a nerve with me lately. They are great people but they have done a few things that have struck me wrong. One day we were over to their house and Rick had been there for hours working on an outdoor playhouse and the boys were being rowdy and his dad started swearing at them and yelling. It really hurt my feelings because this is the impression my kids will have of their grandpa. We don't get out to see them that often and I feel like it should be a good experience and not a bad one. I should have said something but I just packed the kids up and left. Rick stayed behind and ate some dinner that she only made him (that's a whole other story). Another thing is that she forgot to get Adam a birthday present. She usually gives them money so I just gave Adam the money that she would have given him. But his feelings were hurt that she forgot about him. I dunno what to think but enough of that:)
I shopped one store on black friday and got me a wheat grinder for $150 what a deal:) I left at 5:30 and was home and back to sleep by 6:10 so not too bad. We ended up putting up the christmas tree and the house lights so we are all ready for the christmas season at our house.
The kids are all doing great. Deshawn is struggling a little bit with his emotions. I am not sure what that is about but he is doing a little better the last couple of days. Since his last doctor appt we have been dealing with another diagnosis. He was Diagnosed ADHD. This is really not something I noticed before because I have really only focused on his other issues. So now we are trying to decide to add more meds or not. Right now I am leaning towards no. I thought I would list on here his official diagnosis for some people that don't know. He has been diagnosed with PDD-NOS which is in the autism family also Anxiety disorder, Oppositional Defiant disorder, Fetal Alcohol syndrome, Expressive language disorder,Developmental coordination disorder, insomnia and now ADHD. So as you can see we have our hands full with him. We love him so much and just want the best for him. I just hope we can give him everything he needs.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Deshawn has big news! ***UPDATED***

Well Deshawn officially lost his first tooth yesterday. He was so excited to have the tooth fairy come and take his tooth away. When he woke up he came running into our room and had to show us his crisp $1 bill. He was sleeping in Parkers room and so Parker came up with some long winded story about how he got in a pillow fight with the tooth fairy and she hugged him and told him that he needed to hurry and lose a tooth so she could come back. That kid cracks me up. His stories are so out there sometimes and I honestly believe he believes himself half the time.
***Just as I finished typing this post Adam and Deshawn were messing around and Adam ended up hitting Deshawns other tooth and it was so loose that we had to yank it out. So now he wants to know why he talks so funny :)***
I have once again been a terrible blogger but I feel like I don't have alot of time to blog like I use to. I hate it because I love blogging and things have been going well for us lately so I should be blogging about it.
Me and Rick just got back last week from a deer hunting trip. We hiked our behinds off and took alot of 4wheeler trips. The trees were starting to change colors and being in the mountains in the fall is such an incredible feeling. We were on these trails in the middle of nowhere and it was so pretty. Plus I got to share all of this beauty with my wonderful husband. It was nice to be able to spend one on one time with him. He is so much fun to spend time with and we always have so much fun being together.
While we were gone Adam had his 11th birthday (I know we are bad parents leaving our kid on his birthday) I can't believe he is 11 already. Time seriously flies. I just love that kid so much.
Deshawn is doing so well with school this year. He is attending the same school as the other 2 boys this year and he is loving it. On Friday he came home and I pulled out his homework and told him to wait for me to finish the dishes and I would help him with his math and he told me that it was okay he didn't need my help so I let him go for it and when I finished the dishes I figured I better check it and see if he did it right and he did all 3 pages correctly. I was floored. He is a smarty pants :)
Parker he always has a story to tell. He comes home with some of the funniest stories sometimes. One of his stories was that his teacher locks the kids in the bathroom and won't let them out until they pee their pants. Only my Parker can come up with something so out there.
Work is going well for me. I am still super excited about the benefits that I will get. Medical, Dental , Life , Vision and Disability plus 401k and Utah state retirement. It is such a nice feeling. Alot of my worries are no more.
Ricks work is hit and miss. I am hoping that he will be able to stay busy through the winter. As for right now they have been working pretty steady. He is still having problems with his back and I hate that he is in pain all the time. Hopefully now that we have insurance maybe he can have it looked at again.
So yeah we are hangin in there and I will try to post more often. There are a few people who have been complaining about how I have been neglecting my blog so I guess I better stop slackin.

Job Drama
So last week my last job called and asked me if I wanted to come back to work. I was more than ecstatic to tell them that I had found other employment. Well that was on Wednesday and on Saturday I got a phone call from one of the girls I worked with at that job telling me that she got laid off and so did a couple of the other girls. So we talked for awhile and she told me about all that was going on after I left there. They demoted everyone that could be demoted and then on the actual day that they called and asked me to come back they told everyone that they were going to drop peoples wages. WTF? I am so glad now that I got laid off. They are up to some shady stuff and I am glad I am not there for it. I am still trying to figure out why they wanted me to come back when they were just going to lay off a bunch of people. The weird part is I am the only one they asked to come back from the previous layoff. The whole thing is WEIRD.
As far as the new job goes I am getting used to it now. I am still really tired after work and for the most part that lasts until I go to bed but hopefully I will get more used to that. I just finished filling out all the paperwork for my job. One for retirement one for health insurance, one for disability insurance, one for vision insurance, and one for dental insurance. It took forever but I am very grateful that I will have insurance.
Other happy news that I can't wait for is my sister is scheduled for a c-section on the 18th and I am dying to meet miss addison :) I need a baby fix so I am excited to get to love on a new baby.

Oldies
Okay so I thought I would add some cute pics on here. I was adding them on face.book and thought my blogger friends might want to see them.

So here is a picture of me, my twin sister Shelly and My cousin Brian. Our parents posed us for this shot. They can be so cruel :)

This picture has my mom,me, my sisters, my uncle and my cousins in it. We went to Heber and had our pics done in their "old town"

This picture has me, my twin sister, My cousin Dieneke (Dee), My cousin Danny and my cousin Rick. My grandma had this picture on her wall my entire life. It finally came down when my grandfather passed away.

2 Days down!
Well I made it through 2 days of working. My feet are killing me but I am not as tired as I thought I would be. I am just not used to working on my feet. I have always had a desk job since I was 20 so it will take a while to get used to it. But I found out today that I will be getting a paycheck all year even when I am off work for the summer. Then I called our district HR dept and was talking to them and she told me that because I am a contracted employee I will get the state of utah retirement and I will only have to pay $215 for my whole family to have medical insurance. I am so excited for this because we have been without insurance for a year and it is not a comfortable feeling.
This job is going to work out so well. Rick gets the kids up,dressed and fed and his mom works right by our house so she picks them up and takes them to school before she goes to work and I am home by 1:00 or 1:30. I also have all the same days off that my kids do because I work in the same district they attend school in.
As far as my kids go they are loving school. Dee told me tonight that school is GREAT and that he loves it. I have also noticed that Adam has a great attitude this year I think it has alot to do with the fact that his teacher is a male but whatever it is I will take it last year was a difficult one. Parker he just goes with the flow. He is happy to be back in school. His teacher is also a male teacher which is different for a first grade teacher but he is one of those teachers that has a gentle soul.
Thangs are changing but in a good way and I think things are looking up for us :)

Great News!

Well ya know that lunch lady job I interviewed for right after I got laid off. Well I got a call out of the blue today saying the person who was supposed to take the job ended up revoking her contract so they asked me if I still wanted it and of course I did. Hello who wouldn't want to work while their kids are in school and be home a couple hours before they get home plus have all the days off that they have and to top it off have wonderful state benefits.
I am so excited I can Hardly stand it. The wage is crappy but the benefits are worth the lower wage. Wish me luck I am really nervous. I hate starting new jobs.

first day of school 2009
Well the boys have officially gone back to school today. It is only 10:15 am and I have done my dishes, cleaned my house and done 2 loads of laundry. These are things that take me all day to do when my kids are home.
This year Parker and Deshawn are in the first grade and Adam is in the 5th grade. So for the first time in 6 years I am home without any children and I will be honest I am feeling a little freeked out being all alone. Even my dog is acting a little somber. The house is so quiet. But I am sure I will get used to it. Plus I was telling my sister yesterday that I can't wait to miss them. Right now I just want to run away from them. It has been a long and stressful summer and I think everyone was ready to go back to school.
Here are some pics of our last camping/fishing trip, Parkers Birthday and the obligatory 1st day of school pics.
